Question and Answer
-What equipment does my child need to particpate?
A racket and good pair of shoes is all your child needs to compete. The shoes should be supportive of the ankle and not running shoes or crosstrainers. If you cannot obtain a racket one can be provided by the League for the duration of the season.
-Does my child need a sports physical to participate?
Yes, a sports physical will need to be on file. Any sports physical done in the past year will be acceptable.
-My child is currently 8 years old but will turn 9 July 2nd. What League will he/she be allowed to play in?
Since he/she will turn 9 before the League starts the player will have to compete in the 10 and under League. A child may play in more than one league if he/she wants. A 10 year old may compete in the 10 and under, as well as the 12 and under (skill level permitting). But a 16 year old cannot compete in the 14 and under age group.
-What does it cost to join the League?
Currently the only cost will be $10.
-How long will the season last?
We will start beginning of June and go through August. We would prefer the League ends before school starts in the Fall.
-My child hasn't played much tennis before, can he/she still compete?
I expect this will largely be the case for most kids, so don't worry! All of June will be practice.
